| Al Pacino was born Alfredo James Pacino in East Harlem on 26th April 1940 and studied at Fiorello H. LaGuardia, a high school for performing arts.
One of the most influential and greatest actors of all time, Al Pacino has won numerous awards for his acting talents including an Academy Award. He also has to his credit a Golden Globe award, a SAG award, an Emmy and several others including an Obie Award for his performance in The Indian Wants the Bronx and was recognized as the Best Featured actor for the play Does the Tiger Wear a Necktie.
Al Pacino has been nominated for four of his films - Serpico, Dog Day Afternoon, The Godfather Part II and Justice for All. He won his second award for the stage play Basic Training of Pavlo Hummel. He also won an award for his portrayal of Richard III which had a long run on Broadway. |
